Designed to accommodate the needs of the Chatham County Agriculture department, as well as the needs of local agri-business in general, the Chatham County Agriculture and Conference Center offers the largest multi-purpose venue in the County. The West wing of the building serves as office space for Chatham County staff including the Cooperative Extension Service, Soil and Water Conservation District, Natural Resources Conservation Service, Forestry Service, and the Farm Services Agency. The Central and East wing features a collection of meeting spaces ranging in size from 500 sq ft to 5,900 sq ft.
These flexible conferencing and breakout spaces can accommodate a range of 30 to 800 visitors. To emphasize the connection to the outdoors and provide a better working environment, clerestory windows and large expanses of glass allow natural lighting into most areas. The building’s overall form echoes the vernacular farm structures of rural North Carolina, emphasizing the facility’s agricultural focus.
