Situated in the historic Thomson House in downtown Pittsboro, the French Connections store has become a staple of the Pittsboro community. The Owner’s thriving business needed an expansion to house the ever-expanding collection of eclectic fabrics and crafts from around the world. Located just 3 blocks from our office in the heart of downtown, the addition was designed to integrate with the existing rooflines in context with the historic scale and detailing. The dimensions of the interior were designed specifically around the module of the fabric display racks. In addition to the expansion of the retail areas, this project improved the insulation and energy efficiency of the structure, thereby reducing its carbon footprint. We were honored to contribute to the success of one our business community’s cultural icons.
