Fort Macon State Park Phase II - Visitors Center

Project Scope:

Phase 2 of a 2-phase project for the State of North Carolina. Phase 1 involved the restoration of the historic Civil War Fort. Phase II is a coastal interpretive visitors center and includes museum and administrative areas. The site is located at the inlet that separates Beaufort Harbor from the Atlantic Ocean. The primary design objective was to create a structure that complimented the historic fort while maintaining its own modern identity.
