Chatham House III

This house was designed for a family of three with design emphasis placed on a compact floor plan that efficiently addressed the individual needs of each family member. The clients possessed an affinity for vernacular building forms found in close proximity to the rural Chatham County site. The resulting structure utilizes a central corridor that organizes the floor plan and provides natural ventilation opportunities for the entire house. Proper site orientation, spray foam insulation, and high efficiency glazing are utilized to create a sustainable, simple design that addresses the needs of each family member. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2009.
