FORT MACON STATE PARK PHASE I - FORT RESTORATION

Project Scope:

Phase 1 of a 2-phase project for the State of North Carolina. Restoration of the 1830 Fort on Beaufort Inlet included extensive masonry restoration, the removal and replacement of earth berms, waterproofing below grade areas with lead, and the restoration of twelve casemates for museum exhibits. Drainage structures were also restored or improved. The fort remained open to visitors during the two years of continuous work.
